The best tour we’ve ever had—thanks Trafalgar

Itinerary was great, though I would have loved a bit more focus on Ancient Rome (though there was indeed plenty). Did not need to see the Trevi fountain, nor the Spanish steps, but i understand why they were included—i think most people would. LOVED the Tivoli Gardens. Accommodations were fine; coaches and all personnel (drivers, directors, local experts) were fabulous!
Everything went off without a hitch. Laura Pettirossi, our travel director, was just simply amazing—the best I’ve ever seen in this role—dedicated, personable, empathetic, knowledgeable, caring, diligent; she has it all. We genuinely miss her! Changes were made on the fly, which only served to make an already stellar trip even better. I’d unswervingly recommend Trafalgar and specifically a tour that included Laura to anyone wanting to travel to Italy!
The knowledge of the history was excellent. The suprise getting tickets to the public audience with the pope wasbeyond my wildest dreams. The host Laura treated us so well that it was an emotional good bye. One thing i found was some of the tours were really pushed through, such as the sistine chapel. It was so crowded in the museum and the chapel,it seemed like we were treated like cattle going through. We were a little disappointed with the cicerone hotel. The furniture is dated and the corridors on our floor did not look clean. Our air conditioning unit was leaking inour room. They sent someone to fix it ,but it still leaked. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. Besides the hotel, it was a great experience.
The itinerary was good and covered all the major highlights of Rome. This is a good choice for a first time in Rome. The only thing I would have liked to see that we did not visit was the Capitoline museums. The hotel Cicerone was well situated, but is not a 4 star hotel. It needs some updating and work ( only 1 elevator was working.)
Trafalgar’s service was great as was our tour director Laura. She made sure everything was perfect. She even ensured that I had gluten free meals, which was outstanding service.
