There were some hotels that said they had a restaurant but then it turned out that it was closed for the season. The notice was in the packet given at check-in . We did not learn it wasn't there until we tried to go eat. Some hotels, we had to stand and wait to have our passports checked even though other travel guides handed in all the passports at once and could give out their keys. Some hotels we had to have someone from hotel to show us how to get to our rooms because it was so complicated.
*My sister-in-law fell injuring her arm. While the injury did not turn out as bad as initially diagnosed, Jeff arranged for her to be taken to the hospital and seen even arranging for someone to translate since she did not speak Italian.. Likewise on my Spain Portugal trip, Xavier went with the lady that fell out of tub and broke her collar bone and her husband to multiple clinics and hospital and kept tabs on them plus helped coordinate transport back to the states for them. I am insulin dependent diabetic. In my excitement and rush to leave, I left all of my insulin (3 different kinds, about 15 pens) in the refrigerator at the hotel in the city we just left. Xavier arranged for it to be transported to me in the next city so that I didn't miss a whole day of doses.
Drinking Water: Tap water is safe to drink in all of the destinations on this trip. Please remember to bring a water bottle.
