Tour director Mary was outstanding in every aspect….would rate her five stars. Tour covered everything we expected and more. Every day was packed full and well organized. Only downside was the length of time of the train ride from Silverton to Durango. Very hot day and the train car we were in was not comfortable….I would have paid more for a more comfortable car.
The Travel Director was excellent and highly informative. The Wellness Director provided all the safety measures to keep us safe while travelling. Our Coach Driver's skill with the coach was excellent. No concern for safety.

The team on tour were caring and considerate, providing reassurance when required and being informative throughout the duration. Could not have wished for better company.
Trafalgar provided a thoroughly professional service throughout the duration of the trip, making this one of the most enjoyable experiences that we have had with the Company.
Excellent itinerary. Coach very clean and Tim is an excellent driver. Loved staying in the Strater. A couple of the other hotels could use some sprucing up.
Very good itinerary. ******** and Tim are a great team. Some of the hotels need a facelift. ABC shuttle service was not good. We waited 45 minutes to be picked up at the airport. Overall, it was an excellent trip..
Obviously different traveling styles can cause friction. This was our second Trafalgar trip. The director and driver on this trip did not work together as well as on our previous tour. The driving through National Parks was as fast as allowed. On our first trip the driver and director worked together to make sure we all saw the sights and the wildlife. This time things were announced as they passed the back of the bus, if at all.. The trip seemed geared towards rushing to meals with too much time spent on our own. I travel to see the sights and the wildlife not to have three leisurely meals a day. I would rather end my tour day a half an hour later having seen something wonderful. Irmgard, our wellness director was so professional, yet sweet, about keeping us all safe. Thank you Trafalgar for adding this position during uncertain times and for requiring vaccinations. I for one was fine with the historic hotels and wished we had also stayed in the center of Durango.

What is an Active Trip? This is an "Active" lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from easy/moderate to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is required to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will, where possible, host map orientation and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them.
What to Pack Guests should bring lightweight hiking shoes or boots, broad brimmed sun hats, sunglasses, layered clothing, reusable water bottle(s), a hiking day pack and hiking poles (optional) Weather & Altitude While the itinerary is laid out below, we are at the mercy of the weather and so reserve the right to adjust the program as necessary. Please keep in mind that the higher elevations and possible variations in weather and temperature can increase the perceived level of difficulty of our activities. Elevation ranges up to 9,000 feet for Utah’s Mighty Five and up to 11,000 feet for California High Country Adventure.
Everyone reacts differently to altitude and so if you do have any health issues you should check with your doctor that this trip is suitable for you.
