Ciao Roma! 'The Eternal City' opens its doors for an unforgettable At Leisure jaunt through Tuscany and two millennia of culture, history and fiery Italian verve. Spend the afternoon exploring the city before meeting your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Welcome Reception. Embark on an orientation drive past Rome's iconic and unexpected highlights, including views of the Colosseum and Circus Maximus, once the site of exhilarating chariot races which attracted thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
Our journey through Rome begins in the centre of Christendom, where we join a Local Specialist on an included sightseeing tour to visit St. Peter's Basilica and Michelangelo's much-admired Pietà. This afternoon, we enjoy a leisurely drive through the scenic Tuscan hills to the thermal spa resort of Montecatini, the largest and most famous spa town in Italy and your home for the next six nights.

Explore Renaissance Florence
Your Local Specialist will reveal the history of Renaissance Florence during your walking tour. View the magnificent Duomo and visit Piazza della Signoria. In your free time, consider visiting the Ponte Vecchio bridge, one of the city's most famous landmarks and lined with goldsmiths and jewellers. Later, learn about the quality and workmanship of two of this city's historic industries at demonstrations of Florentine leathercraft and 18-carat gold.

With our Local Specialist we'll visit the wonderful "Hall of the Five Hundred", dedicated to the Medici dynasty. We'll also visit rooms decorated with masterpieces by famous artists of the Renaissance like Michelangelo and Donatello.

The visits to the local vineyards and farms exceeded our expectations
This tour was amazing! Muris, Amadeo and Alfredo did everything they could to make our experience the absolute best, including rearranging our excursions when the weather was bad to make sure we could do them all. I'm not a fan of tours, but would do this one again in a heartbeat!
Hotel accommodations were lovely 😊 Coach was comfortable and socially distant for Covid regulation: Driver was exceptional and very accommodating to our needs. The cooking lesson added greatly to our local experience and the local guides were wonderful.
Excellent tour guides and trip exceeded my expectations. Extra options added to a truly marvelous experience and our group of fellow travelers were awesome! I would recommend this trip to others.

There is a lot of walking of which I expected. Not packing and unpacking. Saw the beauty of wall cities. Did a Wonderful cooking class. Had a divine meal at a winery. The only thing negative was limited restrooms.
Outstanding! Director Muris Kumara was well informed. He has a great love of Rome. Did not move from hotel but once… was amazing not to pack and unpack. Driver Alfredo was skilled. Armedeus made sure we followed safety regulations, what a kind loving man.would go again in a minute. Loved the Italian people. The three individuals made the trip wonderful

Active Trip Details
Navigation Close Icon
What is an Active Trip? This is an "Active" lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from easy/moderate to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is required to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will, where possible, host map orientation and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them.
What to Pack Guests should bring lightweight hiking shoes or boots, broad brimmed sun hats, sunglasses, layered clothing, reusable water bottle(s), a hiking day pack and hiking poles (optional)
Weather & Altitude While the itinerary is laid out below, we are at the mercy of the weather and so reserve the right to adjust the program as necessary. Please keep in mind that the higher elevations and possible variations in weather and temperature can increase the perceived level of difficulty of our activities. Elevation ranges up to 9,000 feet for Utah’s Mighty Five and up to 11,000 feet for California High Country Adventure.
Everyone reacts differently to altitude and so if you do have any health issues you should check with your doctor that this trip is suitable for you.
